About the Conference

IFLA, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, is founded in 1927 and headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands. It is the most authoritative and influential professional non-governmental International organization consisting of more than 1600 library associations among 150 different countries.

Interlending and document supply is an integral part of IFLA’s strategic plan and Key Initiatives. In addition, an important mission of ILDS committee is to organize the Interlending and Document Supply Conference every two years. The continuing development of technology and the increasing use of electronic resources make this conference an exciting opportunity for the international communities to come together to discuss the delivery of quality services to users.

12 times of ILDS conference have been held until now, the participants are mainly the curators and managers who are in charge of the interlending and document supply services from around the world’s public libraries, professional libraries and university libraries.

The 13th  IFLA Interlending and Document Supply Conference will be held in Beijing, China on 16-18 October 2013. The theme is Global Vision and Local Strategy. The conference will combine the thematic reports and some discussions in order to absorb and exchange the advanced academic achievements in the field of the interlending and document supply. And moreover, it will also provide a valuable opportunity of communication and cooperation to the professional librarians from all over the world.
